Dubai-based Al-Sharqiya Television has launched Al-Sharqiya Drama, a new channel showcasing Arabic, Turkish and Western programmes. The third of Al-Sharqiya Televisions bouquet of channels went on air on the first day of the Holy month of Ramadan.
The Arabic-language station broadcasts 24 hours a day focusing primarily on soap operas and drama. The other pan-Arab broadcasters channels include general entertainment Al-Sharqiya TV and news channel Al-Sharqiya News.
Program Director of Al-Sharqiya Television, Alaa Al Dahhan said, We have exclusive shows and series and some of these shows are produced by us.
Series produced by Al-Sharqiya Television include Salima Basha and Al Dars Al Awwal . Turkish series Jinan or Canan (Turkish) and Yaqout or Zehirli Sarmasik (Turkish) will be dubbed into Arabic. Other shows include a comedy series, Firqat Naji Atallah, lead by Arab Comedian Adil Emam.
The new channel can be viewed on two satellites including Nilesat 102 and Hotbird 9.
